An Australian brewery angers the Indians as the
alcoholic ginger beer bottles were labeled with pictures of Hindu
dieties Ganesh and Lakshmi.Using dieties and symbols of Hinduism in this
grossly inappropriate and offensive manner is unacceptable said Rajan
Zed,the President of the organization which is based in the United
States.Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi were highly revered in Hinduism
and they were meant to be worshipped in temples or homeshrines, and not
to be used in selling beer,Zed said.President of the Indian Australian
Association of New South Wales (NSW), Yadu Singh said the labels were
''disgusting'' and had "cheapened" the Hindu religion.
