Cinema Ticket Rate Hike Due to GST


Latest tax system in India, GST has been a biggest sensational decision by the government of India, This Goods & Service Tax is all set to be implemented from July 1st across India and this is now affecting the Cinema tickets prices, GST cutting down the Entertainment Tax and Service Tax levied by the state governments and replaced by GST which is now became a reason for ticket hike.

Here is the list of ticket rates effective from July 1st 2017

IN GHMC region, the first class ticket is Rs 120 and the lower class ticket is going to be Rs 40.
In Municipalities, the first class ticket is Rs 80 and the lower class ticket would cost Rs 30.
In Panchayats, the first class ticket is Rs 70 and the lower class ticket is priced at Rs 20.

Multiplex ticket rates would be levied at 28 percent.

Tickets below Rs 100 will be charged a GST tax of 18 percent
Tickets above Rs 100 will be charged a GST tax of 28 percent
